Penguin One Sheet Bag

Eileen is the host of this week's Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen 'Anything but a Card' as the theme. You can make or alter anything you like - tags, boxes, sleeves for wine bottles - but it must be a Christmas project.  This month we have two fabulous sponsors for our challenge - Di's Digi Stamps are offering $12.00 to spend in their store and Marianne Designs  are offering two fabulous dies.

I have made a One Sheet Bag (following the instructions in the Everyone Needs a Houghie 2 book) which is perfect for small gifts  I'm entering this into the Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes as Long as it's Christmas' and the ABC Challenges 'G is for Grand (Anything but a Card)' and Sparkles Christmas Challenge 'Christmas Cuties'.

Image: Lili of the Valley 'Merry Christmas Penguins' Mini Masterpieces pre-coloured toppers
Punch: Woodware Snowflake (regular)
Colouring: Promarkers (Lavender & Amethyst)
Card: Purple matt
Paper: A4 lilac/blue paper from Making Cards (magazine freebie)
Other: White organza ribbon, white pearls, hole punch

To make the bag I scored 2½ inches from each long side and 4½ from each short before folding the side sections to make the bag, using Collall All Purpose glue to fasten the sides and bottom.  I trimmed one of the small toppers from the Mini Masterpieces sheet and used the Lavender Promarker to colour the banner so it matched the paper.  I layered the topper onto purple card and attached it to the front of the bag.  I punched three small snowflakes, attached them to the topper and fastened small white pearls to the centre of each.  As I didn't have any purple ribbon, I used the Amethyst Promarker to colour a piece of white ribbon.  I punched two holes in the top of the bag, threaded the ribbon through the holes and made a bow at the front.
