Butterfly and Doily

I made this thank you card for the current Butterfly Challenge which is 'D for Doily'.   I'm also entering Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Stampendous 'Thank You'
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Card: Dark brown and green
Paper: Butterfly and rose paper
Other: Dovecraft Lace Doily, Wink of Stella

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto green and brown card and then attached it to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the doily and then trimmed it to size as I didn't want it to cover the border on my paper.   The doily was attached to the card and then I outlined the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Non-evergreen Christmas Tree

I was so pleased to hear I was last week's Merry Monday Challenge Winner and delighted when Bonnie asked me if I would like to be Guest Designer for this week's Merry Monday challenge which is 'Non-evergreen tree(s)'.

Let your dreams take flight

This card was made for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and as the paper and card were from my snippets drawer, I'm also in the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card Blank:  7" x 5" white silk
Stamp: Hot off the Press 'Feathers' (magazine freebie)
Die: Memory Box 'Beautiful Balloon'
Ink: Versafine Majestic Blue
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Blue, gold, silver card and cloud paper

I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card and traced over the image with a Wink of Stella.  I layered snippets of cloud paper onto a strip of blue card (making sure the join in the papers would be covered by the balloons) and attached them to the card blank. I die cut two balloons, the gold balloon was attached directly onto the card and the silver balloon was attached with foam tape.  To finish, I outlined the embossed area of the balloons with a Wink of Stella.

Butterfly and Jagged Edges

The current Butterfly Challenge is 'J for Jagged Edges' - as I'm more a ruler and craft knife person I found this a challenging challenge!   The papers and card are from my snippets drawer so I'm paying my final visit to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Stamp: Hobby Art 'Happy Birthday'
Die: Crafty Ann 'Butterfly 7'
Ink: Versafine Imperial Purple
Snippets: Lilac papers, moondust card

I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card.  To get a jagged edge on my papers, I placed the blade of my bread knife on top of the papers and then ripped them!  I trimmed the largest strip of paper so it came halfway across the card, the other strips were ripped so they would be of equal size when attached to the card.   Each strip was attached to the card by the inner edge only, so it gave a more jagged appearance.   I die-cut the butterfly and attached the body with a couple of dots of tacky glue and then curled the wings.

Vintage Christmas

I found a concertina card in my upcycling box and thought it would be perfect for the May challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round which is 'Vintage'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white matt
Paper: Turquoise snowflake paper
Other: Upcycled Christmas card, Diamond Stickles

I trimmed the three images of the Christmas card and layered them using foam tape.  A piece of snowflake paper was attached to the sky aperture and then the whole image was attached to the card blank with foam tape.   There was a small amount of glitter on the card but I added more with Stickles.
